Niah's 2nd Birthday

Niah had a pretty in pink Birthday Party.

We decorated with Pink and off White pom poms.

I made a banner out of Burlap that hung on a light pink backdrop in front of the food table that said, "Niah Beth is two." We served Veggie Pizz, Chicken and Steak Bites, various fruit, Mac N Cheese, and yogurt
.
I made a pink Butterfly cake. I had a butterfly cake for one of my birthdays as a kid that my Grandma had made. I made a homemade funfetti cake. The cake recipe was a new recipe I used and it was not as good as the homemade cake I made for my mom's Birthday. Also a cookie decorating stations

The tables were decorated with pink tablecloths, pink tulle pom poms, pictures of Niah in a pink dress.

We had Pink Strawberry lemonade to drink

The Birthday girl wore an extremely adorable pink dress

The family

It was a great Birthday, she had tons of sweets and loved every minute of it.

4 Months

I am a little late in posting this but I blame it on the fact that we have not had your 4 month check up yet.

You are such a sweet laid back boy but every once in awhile you let us know that you know what you want and show us you will not be forgotten. It seems you have grown so much and you are so big but every time I take you to the dr you come out right at average or below average.

You are still breastfeeding. I am pumping a bottle about 3 times a week and sometimes you get very mad with a bottle and other times you are just fine with a bottle. You are eating about every 3-4 hours during the day. You are taking a nap after every 1 1/2 hours of awake time and sleep for at least 2 hours except in the evening you have about a 3 hour awake time before bed. You are going to bed between 7-8. You will usually wake up 1 time between 10-11 to eat and then you will sleep till 6 am. Your favorite sleeping position is on your side with your hands positioned a certain way, otherwise you will not go to sleep or you will wake up pretty quick. You spit up quite a bit and the dr. tells us it is because you eat too much too fast. She said not to worry about it spitting up does not hurt nor bother you and some babies just spit up a lot. You leave little spit up presents on me every day, and I am so use to it I do not even notice anymore!

You are a pro from rolling tummy to back and just started trying to roll back to tummy but you still have not figured it out.

One of my favorite things is how no matter where I am in the room if I look you in the eye you will smile and even laugh out loud. I can get you to giggle when I say "Hey Buddy." You are extremely ticklish and will laugh like crazy when I rub lotion on your belly or if I run my finger on your neck.

You have not seemed to mind the car until this month. Thank goodness! Your sister hated the car from day 1 and still does and I could not have handled 2 kids crying in the car from day 1 with you. You now will start crying uncontrollably in the car until I stop the car and get you out. I now plan all trips in the car whether it is a 5 min car trip or 25 min car trip to make sure that you will be at your most comfortable and will go to sleep. I am not a fan of when you cry in the car.

You are in size 2 pampers diapers and wear 3-6 month in clothes. You have quite a large wardrobe for a boy but I always feel the need to buy you lots of clothes because you do not have nearly the amount of clothes as your sister. Thankfully, I have found cute boy clothes, it is not an easy task but when I do find them, I buy a lot.

Malachi, we love you so much and you are such a joy in our lives. I can not imagine life without you.

Baby Jogger, double City Mini Stroller

I just had my second baby back in January and one of the most important products to buy for me was a double stroller. I researched, read reviews, tried out double stroller, and contemplated my decision for weeks. We are not a family that can afford to buy a different double stroller if we did not like the first (as I am sure a lot people can not). After weeks of searching, I decided on Baby Jogger's Double City Mini Stroller.

I got this exact stroller it is their 2011 version in Orange because I could get the best deal on it. I found it at Albee Baby. They had free shipping which made the deal even better, I have a hard time paying for shipping on products, I purchase.

I was so excited when I arrived that I could not wait for my husband to put it together and so I opted to do it myself. I am can honestly report that I was able to assembly no problem. It required no tools and had easy snap in to place assembly. I immediately put my kids in it and tried out and instantly fell in love.

What I loved about it was that it was not very heavy and I can easily get it in and out of my car even holding the baby in one arm. How it folds, so flat and that it folds with such ease I can do it in the matter of seconds. That it pushed so easily and smooth. I can push both kids up the steep hill by my house much easier in this stroller than our single stroller. It works great walking our neighborhood or at the mall. I have no problems getting through doorways or aisle in it. My husband is not one to talk about baby products and he even said it is the best purchase I made.

I did buy the parent console separately and so glad I did for drinks and to put things in. I was going to buy the car seat adapter for my baby who is now 4 months old and never did because I was never sure if my car seat worked in it.

My only complaint is that the underneath storage is hard to get thing in and out of. it works well for putting sweaters and coats but you can not get purses and bags out of it easily. Thankfully it has a storage place on the back of each of these seats.

This was definitely a good choice and I am so glad we bought it.

3 Years

I spend a lot of time talking about, bragging, and admiring my beautiful children but there is one man in my life that is my team mate, best friend, and may not get the spotlight with the camera (he hates pictures) but I can not imagine life with out him. 3 years ago today we walked down the aisle to a beautiful wedding and said our vows and I am more in love with him than ever.

Matthew is one amazing dad. I love to watch him as he plays, holds, and comforts our little ones. I feel so very blessed when he calls to just check on me or knows something is bothering me and tries to fix it. I love the fact that when I was full of pregnancy hormones and something did not turn out just the way I wanted it and big tears came to my eyes over tiny little things he did not care a thing about, he would try is hardest to make it the way I wanted it. I love the fact that he knows me so well he knows when to give me space and let me do my thing and when to step up and help me.

Now, do not get me wrong there are definitely things that we drive each other crazy with and we learn to either get past it or battle it out. He drives me crazy that he wants to take up the entire King size bed and put his feet on me, it drives me crazy that he talks on the phone so loud when the babies are sleeping, and it drives me crazy that he sneaks a chocolate chip into Niah if she went to bed before he got home and she is awake still, or how he locks every lock in the house and checks it numerous times before bed but all those things that drive me crazy are things I miss when he is out of town. They are the quirks that I still complain about but love at the same time. I know that he absolutely hates my dramatic reactions, how I am a detailed planner and like to have everything well planned at least 2 weeks in advanced (he says he shoots from the hip), how big things do not seem to stress me out but little things such as no throwing food in the trash can will provide so much stress I take the trash out immediately. I think he would tell you that he has not only got use to those things but loves them now as well.

I am so thankful for my team mate, my husband, my friend. I have loved the last 3 years of doing life with you and I am excited to do the next 50 years or more. I absolutely love that man.

Side notes:
*In case your wondering my husband has never read my blog and I did not write this for brownie points but because I truly mean it.
*I just had to put in a few wedding photos
*I will be putting on my wedding dress for the occasion and eat cake

Busy Week

Last week was such a busy week because it was my Mom's Birthday and it was my sweet girl's 2nd Birthday. (More details about her party to come).

I am a mom that absolutely always takes both of my babies with me on errands and love every minute of it. It is easier for me to take them than to leave them. Niah (my now 2 yr old) loves running errands with me and is usually so good while we do it, little man (almost 4 months) does not care where he is as long as he is with his mommy. Last week involved 4 trips to the grocery store, several shopping trips to various store, and a lot of random stops for random items for Niah's party.

The week involved:

A lot of baking

The 2 cakes I made last week, 1 for my mom and 1 for Niah

Panera breakfast (our favorite breakfast spot)

A lot of time in the car
Good weather means time for a walk to take a break after the long week
Some decorating

Sweet girl borrowing her cousins hat
These are my 2 favorite kids and love them to pieces

My favorite part of a busy day is snuggle time
Overall it was a great week that was busy but involved a lot of our favorite things to make it fun

Niah is turning 2

My Dear Sweet Niah

It is so hard to believe you are turning 2 on Saturday! It seems like yesterday I was holding you in my arms at the hospital. You have grown so much in the last year, most of the baby is gone and you are becoming a sweet little girl. You talk up a storm and can hold conversations now, so we talk often about everyday life. I love to have you helping me and you love to help me whether it is cleaning, cooking, or taking care of Malachi you want to be apart. You have a similar sensitive personality to me as being very sensitive to others. I have always cried for others that are upset and do not like hostile or dramatic situations or attitudes and you are the same way, you cry when someone is hurting and you get very bothered by hostile or dramatic situations. I am so glad that you have so much empathy at such a young age but it makes me have to shield you even more from life's tragedies so that you will not take on others problems at such a young age and worry. You are a prayer warrior!! We have never pressured you to pray but only modeled it in our home and now you want to pray for certain people every night, you want to pray before every meal, and when we stop to pray for someone you stop whatever you are doing and join us. Just this morning at breakfast you reminded us to pray for our meal. This reminds me every single day how my actions are so important because if you have learned this from my actions, that means you are watching and you will learn whatever I am doing. It has also helped me in public because I see how actions can affect people and I want my actions to show Jesus' love.
Niah today

This was Niah Last year at this time

You know what you like and you are weary to try new things. You love to swim, you love golf cart rides, you love to be outside, and you love to swing. Your best friend is your cousin, Kyah. That is the first person you ask to pray for every night. You easily get your feelings hurt by Kyah because you have such a love for her and do not understand when Kyah takes something from you or is feisty with you. Your favorite foods are fruit, yogurt, mac n cheese, hamburgers, ice cream, and chocolate chips.

Niah, we absolutely love you to death and you are such a joy. We love every minute with you and you are such a special girl.

Love
Your Mommy
